So Apparently This Is The Perfect Age To Get Married…..

Thinking about saying ‘I do’, read this first…..

When do you think you’ll start thinking about marriage? How old do you think you’ll be? All questions with probably talked, debated and disliked over a bottle of wine with our mates. Which unless you are planning your wedding right now, isn’t something most of us can ever really know with absolute certainty.

But a new study has revealed there is an ideal time to get hitched – after new stats suggest that saying your vows between your late 20s and early 30s decrease the risk of divorce.

University of Utah researcher Nicholas Wolfinger, suggests that age is linked to a lasting marriage — and that the likelihood of divorce is lowest when you get hitched between the ages of 28 and 32 – known as the ‘Goldilocks’ age range. Tie the knot before or after that, and risk of splitting from a spouse increases, according to Wolfinger.

The odds of divorce decline as you age from your teenage years through your late twenties and early thirties“, Wolfinger says. “Thereafter, the chances of divorce go up again as you move into your late thirties and early forties“.

These findings are backed up by a similar study conducted by Marisa T. Cohen, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at St. Francis College and co-founder of the Self-Awareness and Bonding Lab who asked 773 people ‘what’s the best age to get married?

The opinions gathered from people closely matched Wolfginger’s study. “An overwhelming majority — 83.7 percent — felt that it is ideal to get married in between 25 to 34 years of age“, Marisa says.

The age range “existence is beyond question“, according to Nicolas Wolfinger. So you may want to put a away those wedding magazines for a few more years…..
